Canucks 6 Wolves 1

SLAVE LAKE, AB -- With just 10 skaters on the bench the Dawson Creek Jr Canucks put in a solid performance on Saturday night en route to a 6-1 romp over the Slave Lake Wolves.

Slave Lake had the lead briefly in the opening period but it was Charles Radke who answered back just 46 seconds later with a blast from the high slot. It marked the start for a big night for the Canuck sniper who was sporting a full facemask after taking a high stick in the mouth the night before which resulted in two stitches. The Canucks never looked back after that and scored five straight en route to a 6-1 win.

Following his first of the night, Radke proceeded to score the next two of the game to complete the natural hat trick. The Canucks' leading scorer wasn't finished and added his fourth goal and a helper before the game was through. Colter McLean and Carl Dahlen each added singles and picked up three assists a piece.

Cody Garnett was in goal for the Canucks and stopped 18 of 19 shots. Dawson Creek went 3 for 6 with the extra man while the penalty kill was perfect on the night.

Brass Scissors three stars: 1) Radke 2) Dahlen 3) McLean. Hardest working Canuck: Lorne Weaver.

"We're happy with the weekend," exclaimed Canucks' coach Duncan Redfearn. "(We were) short players for both games actually and we managed to pull two points out of the four so we're happy with that. (We're) a little rough and a little tired but in the end two points is nice."

The Canucks will see the Wolves twice more before the season is finished.
