It is was a very tough couple days for the Jr Canucks late last week. With losses of 8-3 and 7-3 the Canucks returned home with a bitter taste in their mouthes. I said in my last post which was from the weekend that I would post after I thought about it for a bit. Well, truth is, I wanted to forget about it and just move on.
The Canucks are back home on Saturday night for their only game of the week when they welcome the Sexsmith Vipers. This is a great opportunity for the Canucks to get in a good week of practise and take out some aggression on Saturday night. The Canucks have to be careful not to take the Vipers lightly. Sexsmith has upset Fort St John for their only victory of the season and if the Canucks come out flat this could happen again.
In the two losses the Canucks were without their top players in each area of the game. Leading scorer Charles Radke was out of the line up while the 'Nucks were also missing captain Tyson Keen and goaltender Cody Garnett. Having two or all three back this weekend would be a huge boost.
It was an off weekend for Tyson York who looked much better against FSJ than he did in Grande Prairie. You can't blame him for the four power play goals against on Friday. The Canucks were a little slow on Thursday as well. The effort just didn't seem to be there in races for loose pucks and in battles along the boards. Much better effort on Friday.
That's all I really have to say right now. I'll have you're updated power rankings later on today.
Have a great day!
