Huskies game night: @ Regina

SASKATOON - Looking to start the second half of the Canada West men’s hockey season strong, the University of Saskatchewan Huskies will face provincial foe the University of Regina Cougars in a home-and-home series on the weekend.

The series will mark the opening of the second half of the 2010-11 Canada West men’s hockey season for both teams. The Huskies and Cougars will meet Saturday night in Regina before playing in Saskatoon’s Rutherford Rink Saturday.

The Huskies enter the weekend series with an 8-6-0 record, splitting their last two weekend series before the break. Regina sits in last place with a 6-10 record.

Cougar forwards Terrance DeLaronde, Lucas Isley and Dillon Johnstone lead Regina in scoring. DeLaronde leads the team with four goals and two assists, while Isley and Johnstone each have nine points. The bulk of Saskatchewan’s scoring has come from Steven DaSilva, Brennan Bosch, Kyle Bortis and Andrew Bailey. DaSilva leads the Huskies with nine goals and four assists.

Adam Ward has played in 11 games for Regina tallying a 3.65 goals against average and a .894 save percentage. Huskie goaltender David Reekie and backup Ryan Holfeld have combined to allowed a league-low 34 goals against. Reekie has a 2.35GAA and a .923 save percentage.
