Canucks 6 Navigators 2

Canucks sweep the weekend with a 4-3 win over Grande Prairie Friday and then a 6-2 win over North Peace a night ago.

The Canucks were led by Reid Smith who had quite a game Saturday.  Smith got the old "Gordie Howe Hat Trick" (A goal, an assist and a fight.  Well actually his line was two goals one assist a fight and two goal posts).

The turning point on Saturday was big penalty kill midway through the third period.  The Navigators had nearly nearly 2 full minutes of 5 on 3 but were unable to capitalize.  There was also a 3 min power play attached to that as well.

Full marks to the Canucks to battle back this weekend.  After giving up a shorthanded goal in the first they responded to tie the game less than 3 minutes later.

The same thing happened in the second when North Peace took the lead 2-1.  Dawson Creek took their first lead of the game when Lewis Weaver beat Stewart for the eventual game winner.

Canucks still have not lost a game in regulation but have a very big weekend ahead.

=====

Not much of an update today as there are some thanksgiving festivities going on so I'll keep this one short.  I'll do some photo blogging tomorrow as there are some good shots from this weekend's games.

Happy Thanksgiving!
