Bantam Draft **Update

The WHL bantam draft continues in Edmonton, AB this afternoon and the Peace Region is on the board.

David Readman from Dawson Creek was selected in the 6th round, 115th overall by the Spokane Chiefs. The 1994 born goaltender is the only player from the region taken thus far in the draft.

**Update**

The Edmonton Oil Kings have taken another player from the region. Peace River, AB's Darren Kramer was drafted in the 10th round (207th overall).

The draft is complete with just the two players from the region drafted.

Thursday Update

It's been more than a while since I've sat down and put some time into the blog but tonight round two of the NHL playoffs begin so I thought I'd share my thoughts and maybe a prediction or two.

In the Western Conference Vancouver and Chicago open up at GM place tonight. You may remember a couple of heated meetings between these two clubs late in the regular season. There is definetly some bad blood and I'm really looking forward to this series.

I don't see this series being a quick one. I see it being rough and spirited. Canucks in six.

Over in the Eastern Conference it's Crosby vs Ovechkin. This series has most everyone's attention. Mine included.

I like the pens in 7.

I'll chat about the other two series tomorrow.

WHL bantam draft goes today. I'll keep you posted if anyone from the area gets selected.

Have a great day!

It Happens

It happens to us all at one point or another. Heck, I've sworn once or twice while behind the mic. It's a mistake that we all make and last night it happened on national TV. I feel bad for Roger but man is this funny! I can't stop laughing. Enjoy!

Blogger Out

It's some time off for this blogger. I know there has been a lack of updates as of late, especially with the news regarding the NAHL which was announced earlier but Rick over at the DCDN has you covered. Time to recharge the batteries. Talk to you in a couple weeks.

Morning Loop

For some reason I woke up feeling pretty good this morning. That just doesn't usually happen.

=====

The Mackenzie Cup gets underway tonight in Red Deer, AB. The Fort St John Flyers are taking on the Bentley Generals in the best of five series with a berth in the Allen Cup on the line. Tonight marks the first of five games in five nights.

Follow along with Jon Zacks and Mike Feeney on Moose FM in Fort St John and we'll have updates on this blog.

=====

Looks like changes are coming on Toronto. Brian Burke has said that changes to the team are coming in the offseason to ensure that the Leafs are a playoff contender a year from now. Some names that are hitting the radar include Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Marian Gaborik, Jay Bouwmeester and Mike Cammaleri. That's good news if you're a Leaf fan because there is no hope of them ever getting the #1 pick in the draft or making the playoffs with this roster.

Peace FM is gearing up for the Chetwynd Chamber of Commerce Spring Trade Show this weekend at the Rec Centre. We'll be there all weekend live on-air and we're also setting up Guitar Hero. Stop by to play, it'll only cost you $2 and all proceeds go to the Chetwynd Hospital Foundation. Plus, I'm definetly a guitar hero! You can challenge me or anyone at Peace FM to try to be the best.

Don't worry, we're setting up Guitar Hero at the Dawson Creek trade show too.

=====

We're giving away tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters all week on the air. I've also been given a pair of tickets to give away Monday night on Sportsline. The Globetrotters are coming to the Encana Events Centre on Tuesday April 21st.

That's all for now, have a great day!
